We also take part in many national fundraising events including Comic Relief, Children in Need and Genes for Jeans, to name but a few
The Little Lane Nursery support local and national charities throughout the year through various fundraising activities.
In 2017 we launched a new fund raising initiaitve to raise £500 for a defibrilator to be installed within the nursery. Sudden cardiac arrests happen around 140,000 times a year in the UK. The potential for saving a life is dependent upon time, the faster the medical hep can be attained, the better the chances of survival.
Melissa, our fantastic Preschool and Forest School leader, loves a challenge - so, if getting married this year wasn't enough, she has also taken on the challenge of the Canalathon 75k ultra marathon in March, Boston Marathon in April and The Wall 69 mile ultra marathon in June. She will be running and raising money for this fantastic cause, which will benefit not only the nursery, but the local Stamford community.
We will also be holding other fund raising activities within the nursery!
Phoebe Research Fund
We are proud to support the local charity, The Phoebe Research Fund, which was set up by Zoe Crowson, to facilitate funding towards a possible cure for her daughter Phoebe and fellow Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa suffers like her.

Jo Price and family
In June 2016, Joanne Price, mum to Noah who attends the Little Lane Nursery within the Daisy Room (Noah also has three older sisters – Georgia aged 16, Lara aged 14 and Evie aged 9), found a lump in her breast. As Joanne has a young cousin who had breast cancer last year, and lost her mother to breast cancer 17 years ago, she was quickly assessed at Peterborough City Hospital. After a biopsy in July, Joanne and her family received the devastating news that the lump was an aggressive breast cancer that needed immediate treatment.
Understandably, this was a very challenging time for the family, further compacted by the fact that both Joanne and her husband are self employed and with four children it has been difficult both emotionally and financially. Joanne and her family have blown us away with their positivity, determination and love during this time.
The Little Lane Nursery set about making Christmas 2016 one to remember and raised an incredible £2,723 through a raffle (with so many amazing prizes donated by local businesses), cake stalls and fancy dress party.
Joanne has finished all active cancer treatment and the outlook is positive.
