OUR TEAM

Our Team

Easton-on-the-Hill

The Little Lane Nursery believes that both the children and ourselves will maximise their nursery experience with a permanent team of fully qualified staff. We have recruited experienced and qualified nursery nurses and continually support our staff in updating their skills, training and qualifications (all staff are DBS checked and qualified) in order to provide a rich and varied curriculum for our children.

Please see below for a summary of our established key team members and their skills.

Emma

Area Manager
Emma is the area Manager, managing the Stamford setting and overseeing the Easton on the Hill setting.

Emma is a mum to Ava and Theodore and has over 10 years’ experience as a nursery nurse. She started her training with a local Stamford nursery school and once qualified, the nursery was keen to retain her valuable contribution to the nursery and so progressed her to Room Supervisor. In the 2 years before opening The Little Lane Nursery, Emma was fortunate enough to experience a very different side of nursery nursing by working in the neonatal intensive care unit at Peterborough City Hospital. Parents and guardians hold Emma in the highest regard and she plays a very hands-on role within the nursery; a much loved character in the Stamford area!

Katy

Nursery Manager
Katy is the Nursery Manager and is responsible for the running of The Little Lane Nursery at Easton on the Hill. Katy has a BA Hons Degree in Early Childhood and has always worked with children from a young age, with over 13 years’ experience - 3 of those within a managerial capacity. Katy has two children of her own that are school age, so understands how important it is when choosing a nursery.

 Victoria

Proprietor
Victoria Banfield is the Proprietor and is responsible for the nursery administration and finance.

Victoria is mum to William and Phoebe and experienced within business administration and account management fields. She has worked in many industry sectors and has a focused business approach with a keen eye for detail.

"I hold a BA Hons degree in Education Studies with English and also a Post graduate degree in Primary Education.

I have worked in childcare since 2010 in a mixture of schools and nursery settings. Since having my first child in 2015 I realised I wanted to focus more within the Early Years and have been at The Little Lane since 2017.

I have two boys who like to keep me on my toes as well as our two rabbits. In my spare time we are currently finishing our first house renovations but enjoy getting out and about especially on the family farm. I also enjoy getting lost in a good book when time allows."

I enjoy singing nursery rhymes like tiny turtle as you can blow bubbles at the end which makes the babies smile. I also love being outside exploring the garden and going for walks around the village in the wagon.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening with my girls and camping as a family in our tent."

Toni

I hold a Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies. I’ve always had a keen interest in working with children especially since my early teens after spending lots of time with my younger sibling, I find it very rewarding watching the children I care for grow and develop. My favourite part about my job is getting messy with the children and exploring new activities with them."

Julie

Deputy Room Leader
Woodland Room
"Hello, my name is Julie and I am a nursery nurse at The Little Lane Preschool. I have worked with children all of my adult life, spending many years working as a nanny which enabled me to work and live in Italy and Canada. After returning to the UK, and in particular Easton on the Hill (i'm a true Easton girl - born and raised in the village!), I worked in a nursery, studying hard and eventually gaining a BA in Early Childhood Education.

I am passionate about using imaginative play with the children as it is a great way to use real life experiences and also provides the opportunity to explore new and different aspects of the world around them.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, gardening and upcycling furniture!".

Beth

Deputy Room Leader
Saplings Room
" Hi, my name is Bethany, but you call me Beth.  I have recently moved to Stamford from Lancashire and am soon to be wed to my partner who is in the RAF.

I have worked in childcare for over 9 years, I have an a qualified Level 2 in Childcare and a Level 3 in Playwork.  I absolutely love watching the children grow and develop and cheer them on when they have achieved their own learning goal.

I look forward to meeting you all!"

Hannah

Early Years Practitioner &
Level 3 Forest School Leader
Woodland Room
"I have been working in childcare for 7 and a half years now and have spent most of this time in a Pre-School. I am a Level 3 qualified childcare practitioner and have completed courses in paediatric first aid, safeguarding, SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) and have recently completed my Level 3 Forest School training which I am super excited about!

I love my job because I find it fascinating to watch children soak up information and see how much they grow within their time in the room. It always amazes me how quickly children learn and develop when they're engaged and having fun so I enjoy making topics as interactive as possible and finding new ways to explore and learn. This is also why I'm looking forward to spending more time in the forest and to take the learning outside where there are so many possibilities!"

My favourite aspect of the job is working with such a range of children and providing them all with a safe and fun environment everyday. I also love seeing the children develop and grow as they become more independent and build their own little personalities.

I have always been interested in caring for children, from the age of 13 I began as a young leader in the girl guiding community. I continued this until I finished college in 2022. Although I have had no employed experience in childcare I am hoping to complete an apprenticeship giving me experience and qualifications in this sector. It gives me joy to watch the children develop under my care.

Millie Winters

I have undertaken my paediatric first aid qualification since joining The Little Lane Nursery.

I enjoy spending time with the children and watching them grow and especially being able to witness their milestones, such as walking and talking.   I have no children of my own yet but I enjoy spending time with my nieces and nephews."
