Our Team

The Little Lane Nursery believes that both the children and ourselves will maximise their nursery experience with a permanent team of fully qualified staff. We have recruited experienced and qualified nursery nurses and continually support our staff in updating their skills, training and qualifications (all staff are DBS checked and qualified) in order to provide a rich and varied curriculum for our children.

Please see below for a summary of our established key team members and their skills.

Emma

Nursery Manager
Emma is the Nursery Manager and the main contact for parents.

Emma is a mum to Ava and Theodore and has over 11 years’ experience as a nursery nurse. She started her training with a local Stamford nursery school and once qualified, the nursery was keen to retain her valuable contribution to the nursery and so progressed her to Room Supervisor. In the 2 years before opening The Little Lane Nursery, Emma was fortunate enough to experience a very different side of nursery nursing by working in the neonatal intensive care unit at Peterborough City Hospital. Parents and guardians hold Emma in the highest regard and she plays a very hands-on role within the nursery; a much loved character in the Stamford area!

Victoria

Proprietor
Victoria Banfield is the Proprietor and is responsible for the nursery administration and finance.

Victoria is mum to William and Phoebe and is experienced within business administration and account management fields. She has worked in many industry sectors and has a focused business approach with a keen eye for detail.

Rebecca

Deputy Manager
"Hi, my name is Rebecca, but usually i'm known as Becky, and i'm the room supervisor of the Bluebell preschool room. I've been working in childcare for the last 8 years and started as a lunchtime and nursery assistant after having my own children. I then completed my apprenticeship in Level 3 Early Years education and have worked with preschool aged children ever since.

I love my job caring for children, as well as helping them to develop and grow. I enjoy following the children's interests and helping them learn new things by extending their ideas. The Little Lane Nursery is the perfect homely environment that supports all the children and has an amazing team.

I spend my weekend with my family, I have teenage twins and an older daughter at university. My husband and children play a sport called Roller Derby, so spend weekends watching and supporting their teams. We also enjoy trips to the cinema and days out together."

Wendy

 Room Supervisor
Primrose Room
"I’m Wendy and I have worked in childcare for over 23 years, since the birth of my first child. I’m qualified to level 5 and I’m currently studying a level 5 Child psychology course to enhance my knowledge.

I have worked at the Little Lane Nursery since 2017 and have vast experience with all ages.  I currently work on the Primrose room, which is my favourite age group to work with.  I love to watch, help and encourage the little ones into doing lots of their first tings, like walking, crawling and talking.  Sharing these special moments with you is the best job anyone could have.

I can’t wait to explore the world with them and beware I do like to get messy with them, we’re very hands in with our exploring."

Amber-Jade

Room Supervisor
Buttercup Room
"Hi my name is Amber-Jade, I am mum to James and have worked in childcare since 2015.  I hold a Level 3 in Childcare and am working towards my Level 5 and becoming a deputy lead in Safeguarding.

Working with children is amazing as we can help them grow and develop their own individual personalities, being part of the process is such a wonderful feeling.

In my spare time I enjoy being part of Stamford Women's Rugby and love going to Wales with my family.

I look forward to meeting you. x"

 Chloe

Room Supervisor
Daisy Room
"Hi, I’m Chloe, I'm the Room Leader of the Daisy Room. I gained my Level 3 back in 2015 and have worked my way up at The Little Lane Nursery since.

I’ve always wanted to work with children from a young age! I love watching the children develop & grow over their time at nursery as well as watching them build their character and personalities. Messy play has to be one of my favourite things to do with the children, I love watching them use their imaginations to create all different creations with the messy play materials whilst obviously getting super messy at the same time. I also love being able to go and explore the community with the children, showing them many thing the world has to offer while enjoying the fresh air!

Outside of work I love traveling to different places across the country and I love going to many different concerts & gigs. I love everything Disney & have been to Disneyland a handful of times!"

Sofia

Room Supervisor
Bluebell Room
"My name is Sofia Moreno, I was born in Venezuela, a South American country and I moved to England in September 2020 and have since made my home in Stamford, where I have been working locally in a nursery.

Though I am fairly new to the teaching profession, working in a nursery has made me learn in depth about how to work around the EYFS curriculum and about the importance of safeguarding the children.

I spent four years preparing for my career since I have always had a desire to enable children to learn and develop through the creation of activities and the planning of lessons that are adapted to their knowledge and interests. My degree in early years education was awarded by the University of Alicante, Spain, where I studied Preschool Education with a major in English as Foreign Language.

I also gained valuable experience working as a classroom assistant while doing the internships required by my course. I was responsible for preparing teaching material and planning engaging activities for the children in the class. Further, I assisted the class teacher during the lessons, and supported the youngsters who were struggling to keep up with the rest of the class. "

As much as I love being at nursery with my favourite little ones I also enjoy spending my time with my friends and family and going out shopping 😊"
