The Little Lane Nursery believes that both the children and ourselves will maximise their nursery experience with a permanent team of fully qualified staff. We have recruited experienced and qualified nursery nurses and continually support our staff in updating their skills, training and qualifications (all staff are DBS checked and qualified) in order to provide a rich and varied curriculum for our children.

Please see below for a summary of our established key team members and their skills.

"Hiya!  I’m Chloe and I qualified as a Nursery Nurse in 2015, having completed my Level 3 NVQ Diploma at college early this year therefore am very up to date with the Early Year Foundation Stages (EYFS)/curriculum and I have fresh new ideas to bring to the nursery.  I highly enjoy messy play, sometimes even more than the children, as I’m a firm believer that children can learn a lot from many different messy play activities whilst having so much fun at the same time.

I am obsessed with Disney, so don’t be surprised if Disney music is playing out on the ipad and I’m singing and dancing along (sorry!!)."

Hi, I’m Indy and after finishing school joined The Little Lane Nursery to complete my Level 2 qualification in Childcare Learning and Development and have now progressed on to my Level 3.  I really enjoy working with children and playing a part in their growth and development.  It’s so rewarding to watch a child grow and develop into an individual with their own personality.

I love watching the children play freely without any influence from the nursery nurses as this gives them the opportunity to use their imaginations openly.  When I am not at work and studying, I love to go shopping – especially in London – and if I’m not doing that I love to watch the film ‘Elf’ even if it’s in the middle of summer.

"Hello, my name is Sophie and I am the Room Supervisor within the Buttercup Room.  I started working with children in 2010 and have loved every minute.  I love watching the children grow and develop and most importantly - have fun!  My favourite activities are the messy ones and planning exciting outings!

When I am not at nursery, I enjoy baking, socialising with friends and keeping fit.  I am also studying towards my BA Honours which gives me lots of exciting ideas to bring back to the nursery.

I look forward to getting to know you and your child."

"Hi, i'm Melissa and i've just completed my BA Honours degree in Early Years and am also a qualified Level 3 Forest School leader.  I have a massive passion for outdoor learning and love to see how it improves children's self esteem and well-being.

Outside of the nursery, a lot of my time is spent excerising, mainly in the form of running.  I have run three marathons and am currently training for a 69 mile Ultra Maratho (yikes - wish me luck!).

My newest interests are the Spanish language and gardening.  I currently have Spanish lessons, ready for a trip to Peru in 2018 and have just taken on my own allotment, so look forward to growing lots of fruit and vegetables."

"Hi, my name is Katie and i'm the Room Supervisor of the 'clever Daisies'.  I have lived in Stamford all of my life and am proud aunty to two nephews, which I love spending time with.  I have been working with children for over 20 years, mostly with the under 3 age group, which is great fun.

I'm a fun, happy, smiley person - and when i'm not at nursery I love spending time with my friends and family and keeping fit.  I have already run two marathons and am in traiing for my next.  I am also training for the Stamford Rat Race (wish me luck!).  I really look forward to meeting you all!"

“Hello, my name is Zoe and I am the Deputy Room Supervisor in the Bluebell room. When studying for my degree in BA(Hons) Education Studies in English in 2010 I enjoyed lots of placements in schools and nurseries gaining experience of working with children and helping my passion for helping children learn and letting me go on and complete my PGCE in Primary Education. I have worked in schools and nurseries building up my experience but since having my son in 2015 I decided I wanted to base myself within a nursery and work within the EYFS.

During my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends whether it’s walking the dogs, going on bike rides (in the summer) or meeting at a café and enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake. I especially love spending my weekends on the family farm with my little boy who loves looking at the sheep, helping bottle feed the lambs as well as spending a lot of time in Granddad’s tractors.”

"Hello, i'm Amanda (or Manda as i'm affectionately known) and i'm the housekeeper and bossy boots here at The Little Lane Nursery.  Most of my working life has been within retail and when I was made redundant I decided to take a different direction and found this gem of a job.

I am mum of one and grandma to five and own a very naughty cat called spirit.

Outside of work I like to do crosswords and sudoko to keep the brain active, I also like to compose odes and am working on a book!  I am potty about animals, especially elephants, and it is my dream to one day see them in their natural habitat.

"Hi, I’m Gemma and I started working with children as soon as I left school and went on to do my modern apprenticeship NVQ Level 2 in a private day nursery called ‘Little Rascals’ in Garforth within the City of Leeds (yes, I’m a Northern Lass!).  I then moved on to another called ‘Kids Unlimited’ to achieve my NVQ Level 3.  Once I’d completed my Level 3 I embarked on a change of career direction and worked overseas as a Children’s Representative, progressing to Specialist Delivery Head Representative managing a team of people, for holiday company Thomas Cook.

I am fortunate to have worked in Ibiza, Andorra, Portugal, Lapland, Majorca, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria – so you could say i’m quite well travelled!  After 8 years of working overseas I returned to the UK to work in a nursery as I wanted to be closer to home.

I am lucky enough to have swam with dolphins, met the real Father Christamas and Mrs Claus in Kittala and Rovinyemi in Finland.  I have met Chico (from X-Factor) while working overseas with Thomas Cook (although I was dressed as a giant shark called Shades!).  I’m left handed, have size 6/5 feet and have the nickname Gembob Square pants and Dory (From Finding Nemo)."

I have recently completed my Level 2 Nursery Nurse qualification, having joined The Little Lane after leaving school and am now starting my Level 3 qualification.  I have always loved children and wanted to work with them since I can remember, and have had plenty of experience as have a 3 year old brother.  Having my brother has helped me learn a lot about children including how to communicate with them, speaking at their level, and I have learnt to feel comfortable over exaggerating,  being expressive and over the top with the children, I have also learnt to come out of my shell.

My plans for the children include as much messy and unique play  as possible, because it helps children’s development and senses (as well as being really great fun for all children!).  I am a creative person who likes to use my imagination when it comes to making plans, which is definitely something I will bring to the nursery.

Zoe Sharpe Charlie Parker

“Hello! I’m Charlie.  I have been working with children for 4 years, having completed my Level 2 and 3 childcare qualifications and more recently my Forest School Leader qualification.  I am very lucky to have been surrounded by early years throughout my life as both my mum and nan have been nursery nurses (it runs in the blood!).

I enjoy working with children both inside the nursery and in the outdoors and that that it’s important for a good balance of indoor-outdoor environments for the children.  I’m a strong believer of encouraging children’s independence and being a positive role model for the children.

I am a very sociable person so when I’m not at nursery you can guarantee I’ll be doing something with family or friends.  I am also quite a foodie.  I enjoy bowling in my spare time, so much so that I’ve not got my own bowling ball.

I look forward to meeting you."

Amy Kersley
