Parent Governors

Our Little Lane Parent Governors

The Little Lane Nursery is continually looking at news ways of improving the service that we offer at our nursery and value the feedback from all of our families. Our Parent governors play a vital role in our nursery, holding a unique position of having a parental viewpoint of our setting. Through their children, they have a first-hand experience of the delivery of every aspect of the nursery and each bring a different perspective.

We have regular meetings with our parent governors, where different aspects of the nursery are discussed – whether it be new software, menus, the annual family fun day and our charitable events. The parent governors are also our sounding board in terms of changes to the nursery.

Each of our parent governors are contactable via email as some parents/carers may feel more comfortable sharing their thoughts and suggestions this way – these points can then be discussed at our regular meetings.

Juan Gonzalez-Mendia
(Bluebell Room Parent)
After I graduated as a BA in Sport Science from the University of Idaho & Universidad del Salvador (Argentina), I continued his studies with a MSc in Sport Science and Coaching in UCLA. Furthermore, I completed a Post Graduate in Education at the Buckingham University in the UK and I am currently going through my professional PhD at the Leeds Beckett University.

After working for a number of Independent Schools in Argentina, New Zealand and in England, I founded Sudamerica Coaching creating links in 12 countries with over 60 organisations including Schools, Clubs, Universities, Regional Unions and National Federations.

Catalina, our daughter, is now in the Bluebell room loving every minute spent at Nursery. When we were approached to be part of the Parent Governor body I couldn’t helped wanting to help. I feel my experience within learning environments gives me a strong background to contribute towards The Little Lane Nursery development.

Laura Wilson
(Daisy Room Parent)
My number 1 job is being mum to Evelyn who is 2 and in the Daisy Room. Evelyn loves her time at LL and we love to see her confidence growing as she learns from her friends. Evelyn attends LL 3 days a week, giving my husband and I time to focus on our business.

I set up my own business in 2014 providing specialist advise and utility coordination to the gas and electricity industry. Our Ketton based company, CLM, now employs 13 people so I hope I can bring a variety of support and ideas to the business side of LL. I am also very interested in having an input in to the social side of LL and how the various rooms can integrate more in the local community by giving the children more experiences as well as help increase awareness of this fantastic local business.

Gemma Hodson
(Daisy Room Parent)
Hello, I am Gemma Hodson; mother to Finlay who is 2 years old and is in the Daisy room. My childhood was spent growing up in Market Deeping and after leaving to go to University, I returned to Stamford where I married my husband Ed.

I have a degree in Food & Nutrition from Sheffield Hallam University and work for a food manufacturer; I have previously worked for local government as a county nutritionist in the school meals service where I planned meals to meet statutory guideline. I worked closely with parents of children who suffered allergies & intolerance; ensuring they could safely eat school meals which is such an important part of their school day. I feel this knowledge and experience can really benefit Little Lane.

Apart from working and looking after our little monkey, we love spending time with our families & friends whether it’s at soft play, visiting a farm or simply enjoying a glass of prosecco with some yummy food.
